Greenville jumped out to a 7-0 lead after three innings and went on to beat the Lexington Legends 9-1 at Applebee's Park Saturday night.

Anthony Rizzo drove in five runs for the Drive. He hit his seventh home run of the year in the first inning, a two-run shot that scored David Mailman, who had led off the game with a single. Ryan Lavarnway followed Rizzo's homer with a single, and went to third when the ball got past center fielder Brandon Barnes. Kade Keowen singled to score Lavarnway, giving Greenville a 3-0 lead.

Rizzo came back with a two-run double in the second inning to make it 5-0. In the third, Kade Keowen led off with a double. One out later, after Brian Wabick replaced Lexington starter Brad Dydalewicz on the mound, Ryan Dent doubled to score Keowen. An error and a wild pitch allowed Dent to score, and Greenville led 7-0.

The Drive added two more in the sixth. With the bases loaded, Rizzo grounded into a force play at second, scoring Zach Gentile from third. Shortstop Jorge De Leon's high throw to first allowed Mailman to score from second.

The Legends scored their only run in the ninth. Brandon Barnes tripled with one out, and Kyle Miller followed with an RBI single.

Dydalewicz, 3-1, suffered his first loss of the year. Caleb Clay, who relieved starter Nick Hagadone in the second inning and pitched through the sixth, earned the win to improve to 2-2.

The three-game series concludes with a 2:05 p.m. game Sunday.
