Kannapolis, NC - The Kannapolis Intimidators scored four times in the middle innings and never looked back in a 4-1 defeat of the Greenville Drive on Friday night.

A scoreless tie was broken in the bottom of the fourth. After a pair of singles by Tate Blackman and Laz Rivera, Tyler Frost belted a three-run homer off Nick Duron (0-3) to put the Intimidators up 3-0.

Kannapolis tacked on another run in the fifth when Anthony Villa drew a bases loaded walk.

Parker Rigler (1-0) got the win for the Intimidators. The southpaw stymied the Drive (3-12) offense for one hit over five scoreless innings with seven strikeouts.

The Drive finally got on the board in the top of the eighth. Cole Brannen and Michael Osinski hit back-to-back singles to put runners on the corners, and Brannen scampered home on a wild pitch.

Frankie Rios went 2-4 atop the Greenville lineup to lead the offense.

Marcos Lantigua threw three scoreless innings of relief for the Drive with three strikeouts.

Saturday's game in Kannapolis begins at 7:05 PM. The pitching matchup will feature Drive right-hander Alex Scherff (0-2, 8.68) against Intimidators right-hander Kade McClure (1-0, 3.12).
