April 20, 2018 - South Atlantic League (SAL1)
Charleston RiverDogs News Release
CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Charleston RiverDogs are getting back to the basics. After a four-game road trip in nearby Greensboro, the RiverDogs return to The Joe and welcome in the Columbia Fireflies for a four-game tilt starting on Monday. The homestand will feature a review of the fundamentals as Little Leaguers pack the park, pumpkin spice being shipped in by the boatload, and Charleston throwing it back to their inaugural 1994 season.
Monday, April 23, 7:05 p.m.: Dog Day/Youth Baseball Night: Bring your pup to the ballpark as the RiverDogs open their gates for their four-legged fans for the second time this year. The RiverDogs' upright fans can enjoy dollar beers and hot dogs presented by Busch Light. Lowcountry Little League teams will also join in on the fun as they pack the park for Youth Baseball Night. As part of "Dogs with a Cause," the RiverDogs and Blackbaud, the local software and services leader for the global philanthropic community, will share the spotlight with a local nonprofit. This week, the RiverDogs and Blackbaud will promote The Invisible Illness, a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing the stigma surrounding mental health by providing a public platform for individuals who have been affected by mental illness and suicide to share their stories.
Tuesday, April 24, 7:05 p.m.: Live & Local Tuesday: Sample some local fare and enjoy live music on another "Live & Local" Tuesday at The Joe presented by 105.5 The Bridge. This week's celebrity guest host is KJ Kearney, an educator, guest columnist for the Charleston City Paper, and a consultant. His company, Charleston Sticks Together, is producing a hip-hop themed competitive coloring sheet event for the city of North Charleston's Cultural Arts Department called "Live in Color" on May 5. Fans can purchase a specialty ticket for Tuesday's Murray's Mezzanine pop-up, this week featuring the local burgers and culinary exploits of Pub Fare with Chef Jason Bell. The one night only menu will feature peel-and-eat shrimp, raw oysters on the half shell, double cheeseburgers, and avocado burgers as a vegetarian option. Fans can also take part in a local farmer's market on the concourse. Don't forget to stop by the Landshark Shack for weekly drink specials.
Wednesday, April 25, 7:05 p.m.: Wayback Wednesday: The RiverDogs celebrate their near quarter century of history every Wednesday night at The Joe, featuring throwback $4 general admission seats and teal and purple jerseys from the 1994 inaugural season. As part of the first "Way Back Wednesday" presented by Kirkman Broadcasting, the first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a RiverDogs All-Time 25 poster, featuring some of the best players to suit up for the Dogs in team history.
Thursday, April 26, 7:05 p.m.: Basic Night/Thirsty Thursday: The Dogs add to the "Halfway to..." trend in theme nights by honoring "Halfway to Pumpkin Spice" in the all-encompassing Basic Night. Profess your love for avocado toast, Uggs, Trader Joe's, Mean Girls, and more. Scented candles, "Name that Kardashian," and selfie photo opportunities will engage fans throughout the game on the best night in the minors to see the stars of tomorrow while discussing your favorite season of The Bachelor. It's also a Budweiser Thirsty Thursday presented by 95SX, featuring dollar brews in the Budweiser Ashley View Pub and the musical stylings of DJ Natty Heavy. Fans can win access to the new Club Budweiser lounge at The Joe by following 95SX and DJ Natty Heavy on social media and have a chance to win tickets to the May 25 Salute to Service Concert, featuring Brothers Osborne at The Joe.
RiverDogs single-game tickets, including options to the Riley Park Club, are now available for the 2018 campaign, the club's 25th season as the RiverDogs and their "175th season in dog years." Ticket information can be secured by contacting the box office at (843) 577-DOGS (3647) or online at www.riverdogs.com/tickets.
