Rome, GA: The Augusta GreenJackets, South Atlantic League affiliate of San Francisco Giants, lost a tough one 5-4 to the Rome Braves Friday night.

The GreenJackets were hot early as Jean Angomas, Ryan Kirby, and Jacob Gonzalez all consecutively drove in runs in the top of the first. This gave the GreenJackets an early 3-0 lead.

Rome would respond with two more in the bottom of the second inning. This 3-2 lead would stand till the fifth inning when Angomas would triple to score Tyler Brown from first. The GreenJackets would keep the 4-2 lead until the seventh inning.

With two out, runners were on second and third for the Braves. Riley Delgado stepped up to the plate and hit a home run to left field which gave the Braves a 5-4 lead. It was their first lead of the night and one they would not relinquish.

On the mound for the GreenJackets, Joey Marciano was impressive again. He went six innings only giving up four hits and two runs. He also struck out a season high 11 batters on the night.

The GreenJackets will be back in action for the third game of the four game series tomorrow in Rome at 6:00 pm.
