GREENVILLE, SC - After a rain delay of one hour and 57 minutes before the first pitch, the Greenville Drive took a 3-0 win against the Hickory Crawdads, before 4,759 fans at Fluor Field in Greenville on Monday night.

After the delay, the Drive (22-22, 56-58) swung in front in the bottom of the second inning against RHP Jerad Eickhoff (L, 11-6). A solo shot by 3B David Renfroe led off the inning and put Greenville in the 1-0 lead. Eickhoff, though, held the Drive at just the one run through the remainder of his five-inning start, striking out five along the way.

Greenville LHP Mickey Pena (W, 6-5) countered Eickhoff with five scoreless innings, striking out six and exiting with a 1-0 lead for the Drive. Greenville added a pair of insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth. With two on and two down, 2B Bryan Johns ripped a two-run single through the middle, stretching the lead to 3-0. The Crawdads (24-21, 60-54) refused to go down quietly in the top of the ninth, loading the bases against RHP Tyler Lockwood (S, 8) with only one out. Lockwood, though, induced a pop out and a ground out to escape the jam, closing the 3-0 win for Greenville.
