Drillers sign three players

BEAUMONT, TX - The Beaumont Drillers have signed three players including a former All-NIFL wide-receiver. All three have practiced with the team and will be in uniform this weekend.

Jackie Warren, 6-3, 205-pound receiver, played one game for the Lubbock Gunslingers this season and was a Driller last year catching 31 passes for 384 yards with 6 touchdowns in 9 games. Warren, a former record-holder at Hardin-Simmons University, was an All-NIFL receiver two years ago for the Oklahoma Crude.

Sebon "CB" White, 5-8, 185-pound cornerback, is from Phoenix, Ariz., and was a standout collegiate defensive back and all-state high school running back. White played for coach Larry Wilcox at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kan., in 2002 intercepting 10 passes in 12 games to go along with 15 pass breakups. White earned 3rd Team All-American his senior season. The 25-year-old White rushed for over 1,000 yards and 12 touchdowns at Washington HS in Phoenix in 1998.

Jeremy Lofton, 5-11, 230-pound running back played NCAA football for Northwestern State in the Southland Conference in 2002.

The Drillers return to the practice field on Thursday, April 28 at 6:30 pm at the LL Melton YMCA.

The Drillers (4-2) will look to remain perfect on the road as they open Pacific East Division play at Corpus Christi (3-3) on May 1 at 5:05 p.m. Beaumont is 3-0 away from home this season.

The Drillers return to Ford Arena in Beaumont on Monday, May 9 hosting Interstate-10 rival Southwest Louisiana (Lake Charles) at 7:05 p.m.
