BEAUMONT, TX â The Beaumont Drillers called a press conference on Tues., March 1 to announce that the team will move from the Beaumont Civic Center to Ford Arena effective this season.
Ford Arena is a part of Ford Park an SMG managed facility, which sits on 221 acres near Interstate-10.
"With the regulations and requirements handed down by the NIFL, we are thankful to have such a place like Ford Arena," said Drillers General Manager Steve Reap. "This is a first class facility run by first class people, one of the best I have been in."
Ford Arena's total seating capacity is 9,737, with the indoor football setup approximately 8,000. The building is under 2-years-old, and has hosted concerts, rodeos, ECHL hockey and other special events.
"This is a great move for Ford Park," said Allan Vella, Ford Park general manager. "It will give us more events and help financially with the facility."
