Adirondack Frostbite News Release
GLENS FALLS, NY - The Adirondack Frostbite, proud members of the United Hockey League, announced today that the team has re-signed defenseman Scott Drevitch for the 2005-06 season. As per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
This season marks Drevitch's third in an Adirondack sweater. In the previous two seasons, he has played in all 156 games, posting 23 goals and 96 assists for 119 points. Last season, Drevitch led all UHL defensemen in points (61) and assists (48), while finishing tied for third among blueliners in goals (13). He was also named to the UHL All-Star Classic in Glens Falls, the eighth consecutive season he has played in an All-Star Game.
"Scott has always set the bar for defensemen in this league," Frostbite General Manager and Head Coach Marc Potvin said. "His dedication and desire to win at all costs is what makes him so valuable. We look forward to Scott being the backbone of our defense again this season."
Drevitch enjoyed the best years of his career from 1997-2002 while playing with the WCHL's Tacoma Sabercats. He tallied nearly a point per game in Tacoma, scoring 313 points in 321 games. He helped lead the Sabercats to the 1998-99 WCHL Championship, while taking home WCHL Defenseman of the Year honors. Drevitch is the WCHL's all-time leader among defensemen in both points and assists.
In addition to playing 916 games in North America, Drevitch has played 132 games in Europe with teams in Sweden, Austria and Holland.
Adirondack opens the 2005-06 regular season on Friday, October 21, with a road date at Richmond. The Frostbite open the home portion of the schedule on Saturday, October 22, also against the RiverDogs, with face-off set for 7:35 p.m. at the Glens Falls Civic Center.
