
Jackals Sign Two For Camp

Elmira, NY - The Elmira Jackals announced today the signing of forwards Josh Piro and Gary Bowman for the 2005-2006 season.
Piro, a native of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, appeared in 17 games with the Pee Dee Pride under Coach Florio in 2003-04. The former Elmira College player, has battled injuries throughout his first three years as a professional, bouncing around Johnstown, Pee Dee and Dayton in the ECHL and Motor City and Fort Wayne in the UHL. Piro was part of the 2003 ECAC West Champion Elmira College Soaring Eagles team that made their historic appearance in the NCAA Division III Frozen Four.
Bowman, a native of Evansville, Wyoming, was selected by the Jackals in the 2005 UHL Amateur Draft last spring. He appeared in 6 games for the Jackals while making his professional debut. A 4-year forward at the State University of New York at Oswego, Bowman scored 85 points in 107 college games and retains his UHL rookie status.
Don't miss the Jackals Exhibition game against the Adirondack Frostbite Friday October 14th at 7:05 pm at the First Arena. The Jackals will start the 2005-06 UHL regular season Friday October 21st in Illinois against the Rockford Ice Hogs. Elmira will hit the ice at the First Arena for the home opener on Saturday October 29th at 7:05 pm against the Roanoke Valley Vipers.
