
Dream "Goes Green" As Part of WNBA Initiative

Atlanta, Ga. July 29, 2009-- The Atlanta Dream will celebrate "Go Green" night on Thursday, July 30 against Diana Taurasi and the Phoenix Mercury. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 pm ET at Philips Arena. The first 3,000 fans in attendance will receive a water bottle courtesy of MARTA.
In support of the "Go Green" initiative, fans that show their MARTA Breeze card at the Philips Arena box office will receive a 10% discount. In addition, fans can capture their memories with a photo at the MARTA "Green Screen" located on the concourse. During warm-ups, players will wear "Go Green" shooting shirts created by Adidas made of 100% organic cotton.
The Dream recently teamed up with Trees Atlanta for a "Go Green" project at Isabel Gates Webster Park. Shalee Lehning, Coco Miller and Sancho Lyttle participated alongside girls from the Dream's "Power of Girls" mentoring program, mulching trees and learning about ways to reduce our environmental footprint.
During the WNBA's Green Week, the entire WNBA family will team up to generate awareness and funding to protect the environment with special oncourt apparel, auctions to support environmental preservation organizations, hands-on community service projects, and public service announcements.
