Today's Game: The Dayton Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) meet the Great Lakes Loons (affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers) in the last game of a three-game series.

Last Game: Tuesday: Dayton 4, Great Lakes 3 (10 innings). Leandro Santana drilled a game-winning RBI double to break a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the 10th inning. The game was tied 2-2 after nine innings before Great Lakes scored one in the top of the 10th. The Dragons tied the game on an error in the bottom of the inning before Santana drove in Jose Garcia from second base with one out for the win. The Dragons turned a huge double play with the bases loaded in the top of the 10th to end the inning and stay within a run. The Dayton eight-hit attack was led by John Sansone (2 hits, both doubles), Andy Sugilio (2 hits, 2 walks) and Jeter Downs (2 hits, run scored). Dragons starting pitcher Andrew Jordan allowed just one run in six strong innings.

2018 Team Notes

Dragons pitchers have posted a 1.42 ERA in the first two games of the series with the Loons (19 IP, 3 ER). The Dragons have allowed three runs or less in four of the six games played in the second half.

The Dragons have scored four runs in three straight games. This is the first time they have scored four or more in three straight games since June 3-6. They have not scored more than four runs in a game since June 6, going 17 straight games with four runs or less.

The Dragons have committed just six errors in their last 17 games.

2018 Individual Notes

Hunter Greene over his last six starts: 30.1 IP, 25 H, 9 R, 8 ER, 7 BB, 34 SO, 2.37 ERA.

Leandro Santana is batting .326 (14 for 43) over his last 11 games to raise his season's average from .190 to .222.

Andy Sugilio has four straight two-hit games and is batting .391 (9 for 23) in the second half.

Jeter Downs is batting .318 (7 for 22) in the six games in the second half, with one home run.

Malik Collymore has hits in all four games he has played in with the Dragons, batting .357.

Cory Thompson has posted a 1.67 ERA in 27 relief appearances. He has not allowed a run over his last six outings covering 10 innings (he also struck out the only batter he faced in the MWL All-Star Game on June 19 at Lansing).

John Ghyzel is tied for first in the MWL lead in saves with 13. Ghyzel was the winning pitcher in the MWL All-Star Game on June 19.
