Quad Cities River Bandits News Release

Davenport, IA - The Quad Cities River Bandits River Bandits fell behind in the top of the sixth inning, but bounced right back to put up four runs in the bottom half on their way to a 6-3 win over the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on Wednesday night at Modern Woodmen Park.

The River Bandits used the long ball to take a quick lead after one inning. With two outs, Miguelangel Sierra drove a pitch from Wisconsin starter Dylan File over the berm in left field for his sixth home run of the season. The solo blast put the Bandits in front 1-0.

In the second inning, Colton Shaver led off with a double to deep center to get into scoring position immediately. Chandler Taylor took advantage by rolling a base hit through the right side of the infield for a single. Shaver raced home to put the Bandits up 2-0.

After Cesar Rosado worked 5.0 scoreless innings to open the game, Wisconsin found their stride in the top of the sixth. KJ Harrison started the frame with a solo home run to left field for his sixth of the campaign, cutting the lad in half. Rob Henry followed with a single and then Darren Seferina gave the Timber Rattlers a 3-2 lead with a two-run blast to right. The home runs were the first two allowed by Rosado all season.

The River Bandits bounced right back in the bottom of the frame. Sierra started the inning with an infield single which was immediately followed by a game-tying RBI triple off the bat of David Hensley. The Bandits moved in front a few pitches later when Hensley scored on a wild pitch. Shaver and Taylor reached on back-to-back walks before Jonathan Lacroix was also walked intentionally to load the bases. Michael Papierski lined a base hit into right field to plate two more runs before the inning ended and push the margin to 6-3.

Rosado worked 6.0 innings and allowed three runs on six hits. He also matched his season-high with nine strikeouts. Humberto Castellanos was the only reliever needed as he dealt the final three innings without allowing a run. The right-hander allowed one hit and walked one while striking out three.

The River Bandits (2-5, 42-35) hit the road to take on the Kane County Cougars (3-4, 38-38) at Northwestern Medicine Field on Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. RHP Yohan Ramirez (5-6, 2.67) will get the ball for the Bandits in a match-up against RHP Jeff Bain (6-2, 2.92).

All River Bandits games are broadcast on 1170 K-BOB and TuneIn Radio. Home games are also available with video on MiLB.TV.
