Today's Game: The Dayton Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) meet the Lake County Captains (affiliate of the Cleveland Indians) in the first game of a two-game set in Eastlake.

Season Series to Date: Dayton 7, Lake County 4 (at Lake County: Captains 3, Dragons 0). Current Series to Date: First meeting.

Last Game: Sunday: Dayton 5, South Bend 2. The Dragons earned a split of the four-game series in South Bend. Malik Collymore lined a two-run double to the fence in left field to drive in two runs and break a 2-2 tie in the sixth inning. Dayton pitchers Andrew Jordan and Austin Orewiler combined to scatter 11 hits and strand 11 base runners. Collymore, Jose Garcia, and J.D. Williams each had two hits for Dayton.

2018 Team Notes

The Dragons are batting .267 in the second half after hitting .241 in the first half. They are averaging 4.82 runs per game in the second half after averaging 4.37/game in the first half. They have scored at least five runs in four of their last five games after scoring four or less in 17 straight games. They have scored at least 11 runs in two of their last five games. They have posted a batting average of .275 or higher in back-to-back series for the first time this season. They have also hit at least .300 with men in scoring position in back-to-back series after hitting .300 in a series only once in all previous sets in 2018.

The Dragons have committed just eight errors in their last 22 games. They have committed just five errors in the second half (11 games).

2018 Individual Notes

Hunter Greene over his last seven starts: 36.1 IP, 28 H, 10 R, 9 ER, 9 BB, 41 SO, 2.23 ERA. Greene has made 14 starts. His ERA in his first seven starts was 10.06.

Andy Sugilio is batting .333 (12 for 36) in the second half.

Leandro Santana is batting .328 over his last 15 games to raise his season's average from .190 to .230.

Malik Collymore has hits in all eight games he has played in with the Dragons, batting .344.

Jeter Downs is batting .306 with two home runs in the second half and has walked eight times in 10 games, posting an on-base percentage of .444.

Jose Garcia has a five-game hitting streak, batting .360 with three doubles and a triple.

J.D. Williams is batting .308 since his return to the Dragons on June 15.

Raul Wallace is batting .333 since joining the Dragons from Billings on June 15.

Cory Thompson has posted a 1.86 ERA in 28 relief appearances. He has allowed just one run over his last seven outings covering 11 innings (he also struck out the only batter he faced in the MWL All-Star Game on June 19 at Lansing).

John Ghyzel is first in the MWL lead in saves with 14. Ghyzel was the winning pitcher in the MWL All-Star Game on June 19.
