Dayton, Ohio-The month of July has been an excellent month for the Dayton Dragons. Here are some notable facts:

The Dragons have won eighth consecutive home games at Fifth Third Field. Three of those games have been "walk-off" wins and two have ended with game-winning home runs by Angel Cabrera.

The Dragons are 12-2 over their last 14 games overall.

Despite starting the month with a 2-4 record, the Dragons are now 14-6 for the month. They are tied with Peoria for the best record in the Midwest League for the month of July.

During the Dragons' last 14 games, they have batted .300 as a team, averaging 6.6 runs per game, with a team earned run average of 2.56. By comparison, the Midwest League leaders in those categories for the year are .272 batting average (Clinton), 5.1 runs per game (Clinton), and 2.96 ERA (Lansing).

The Dragons top hitter in the month of July has been Angel Cabrera, who is batting .389 for the month with two walk-off home runs. Neftali Soto is batting .328 for the month and Zack Cozart is hitting .324.

On the mound, Matt Klinker is 3-0 with a 1.38 ERA for the month. Jeremy Horst is 2-0, 1.50. Reliever Jeff Jeffords is 1-0, 0.64.

The Dragons have played 18 home games in the second half. Four of those games have ended with walk-off home runs (Brandon Waring, Zack Cozart, Angel Cabrera two times).

The Dragons currently have a four game lead on Fort Wayne in the race for the final Eastern Division playoff spot with 38 games to play.

The Dragons host the Peoria Chiefs tonight (Thursday) at 7:00 p.m. (EDT) at Fifth Third Field.
