Today's Game : The Dayton Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) meet the West Michigan Whitecaps (affiliate of the Tigers) in the first game of a three-game series.

Season Series : Dayton 4, West Michigan 3 (all seven games in Dayton).

Individual Notes

- Sammy Diaz is batting .390 over his last 15 games (23 for 59) to raise his average from .141 to .243.

- Sebastian Elizalde is batting .352 with four home runs over his last 14 games (19 for 54) to raise his average from .295 to .318.

- Jamodrick McGruder is batting .344 over his last 15 games (21 for 61) to raise his average from .220 to .283. He has hit safely in six straight games.

- Phillip Ervin is batting .345 over his last seven games (10 for 29) with a home run to raise his average from .193 to .215.

Team Notes

The Dragons have led the division or the wildcard race for all but six days of the season and for all but one day since the sixth game of the season. They have been in first or second place for every day since April 23 when they dropped to third place for one day. The Dragons are in second place, four and one-half games behind South Bend and percentage points ahead of third place West Michigan. The first half season is currently scheduled for 68 games for Dayton (two rain/canceled). The top two teams in the division qualify for post-season play. The Dragons are batting .291 as a team on the current road trip but have lost all three games by a combined score of 27-17.
