Dayton Dragons News Release

Fort Wayne, Indiana-Heavy rains caused the suspension of the Dayton Dragons game in Fort Wayne on Monday night. The Dragons led the TinCaps 4-1 in the middle of the fourth inning when the game was stopped. It will resume at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the point where it was suspended Monday and continue as a nine-inning game. The regularly-scheduled game, now scheduled for seven innings, will follow the suspended game on Tuesday.

J.C. Sulbaran (3-3, 4.99) will start the second game for Dayton on Tuesday. The next home game is Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Fifth Third Field when the Dragons host the West Michigan Whitecaps.

The Dragons took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning on Monday night, ignited by a lead-off triple by Alex Oliveras. Byron Wiley singled in Oliveras and eventually scored on a base hit by Carlos Mendez.

Fort Wayne scored an unearned run against Dayton starter Mark Serrano in the bottom of the first inning, but the Dragons answered with two runs in the third. Oliveras again started the rally with a hit and scored on Wiley's double. Wiley scored on a two-out single by Humberto Sosa to make it 4-1.
