Dragons Game Added to NBC Schedule
March 24, 2004 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
New York Dragons News Release
The Dragons announced today that their road game on Sunday, April 4 vs. the Carolina Cobras will now begin at 12:00 p.m. instead of the originally scheduled 3:00 p.m. The game was moved to accommodate NBC's broadcast on their weekly coverage of the AFL. This will be the seventh of 13 times the Dragons will appear on WNBC4. If you can't see the game, you can still hear the game on WLIE 540 AM.
The game will be a heated contest as it marks the first time former longtime Dragons head coach John Gregory will face his former team. Prior to joining the Cobras for the 2004 campaign, Gregory served as head coach of the New York franchise for nine years from 1995-2003. Along with Gregory, five Cobra players spent time with the Dragons in 2003, including quarterback Matt Nagy, offensive specialist Todd Doxzon and wide receiver/defensive back Damien Groce.
The reigning Eastern Division Champion Dragons, along with 2003 AFL Coach of the Year Todd Shell, will enter the game on April 4th with a 4-3 record. The Dragons next home game is Sunday April 18th at 3:00 p.m. vs. the Colorado Crush. Tickets are going fast! For all your ticketing needs, call 1-866-AFL-TIXX.
