Grand Rapids Rampage News Release

Fresh off of their bye week, the Grand Rapids Rampage have announced the signing of WR/DB Jason Waters. In addition, the team has activated OS Carlos Johnson, DS Cecil Doggette and FB/LB Ron Perry from injured reserve.

Waters (5'11' 185lbs. - Tennessee) suffered a pre-season injury and was subsequently traded to Los Angeles. He played for the Rampage in 2002, finishing first on the team with 17 passes defensed, third on the team with 40.5 tackles, and added an interception despite playing in just 11games. Prior to coming to the Arena Football League, Waters spent time with the NFL's Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons.

Johnson (5'11" 182 lbs. - Lane College) will be on the active roster for the first time this season after an injury sustained in training camp forced him to the injured list for the season's first six games. He began his AFL career with the Portland Forest Dragons in 1999, before the team relocated to Oklahoma. Johnson has since played in Toronto, Tampa Bay, and New Jersey.

Doggette leads the Rampage in tackles (20.5) and pass breakups (seven). He returns to the lineup after being injured on the opening kick-off in week three. Perry, a seven year AFL veteran, has two rushing touchdowns for the Rampage this season.

To make room for Waters, Johnson, Doggette, and Perry, the Rampage placed WR/LB Nakia Jenkins and FB/LB Brian Goolsby on injured reserve with knee injuries, signed OL/DL Chris Enneking back to the practice squad, and released WR/LB Thomas Bailey.
