Dragons Activate Jacob Johnson for Tonight's Game

DAYTON, OHIO-The Dayton Dragons announced the following roster changes today:

Right-handed pitcher Jacob Johnson has been promoted to Dayton from extended spring training.

Right-handed pitcher Jimmy Moran has been assigned from Dayton to the Billings roster.

The Dragons roster remains at the Midwest League limit of 25 players.

Johnson, 21, was the top winner for the Dragons in 2010 when he spent the entire season in the club's starting rotation. In 25 starts, he went 8-7 with a 4.47 earned run average. Johnson missed the entire 2011 season after undergoing right shoulder surgery. He will make his first appearance in an official Minor League game since September 2, 2010 when he starts tonight's game for the Dragons at Bowling Green against the Hot Rods. Johnson signed with the Reds organization after being selected in the 11th round of the 2009 draft out of out of Trinity Christian Academy in Lake Worth, Florida. Johnson finished fifth in the 2009 Florida Mr. Baseball voting. He was named the Florida Class 1A Co-Player of the Year and a 1st Team All-State selection in '09.

Moran has appeared in 15 games in relief for the Dragons this season, going 1-2 with a 6.10 ERA.

The Dragons play at Bowling Green tonight at 7:35 p.m. (EDT). They open a three-game series at Fifth Third Field in Dayton on Saturday against the Great Lakes Loons at 7:05 p.m.
