Double Trouble: Bulls Take Two Games From The Lynx

The Lynx out-hit the Bulls in both games of their doubleheader, but dropped both games by scores of 2-0 and 4-3.

The losses drop the Lynx record to 25-30 while Durham improves to 30-30.

Lynx Player Of The Day: Chris Roberson had a combined five hits in eight at-bats and two stolen bases at the top of the Lynx lineup.

Game 1 Recap: The pitchers were ahead of the hitters, as Lynx pitchers Eude Brito and John Ennis and Bulls starter Mitch Talbot combined for 13 shutout innings. The Bulls earned the win when Joel Guzman hit a two-run home run in the top of the seventh and final inning. Chris Roberson had two of the Lynx five hits, including the club's only extra-base hit (a double).

Game 2 Recap: The nightcap featured extra innings, as the Bulls beat the Lynx 4-3 in a 10-inning marathon. Durham took an early lead in the top of the first inning but the Lynx came back to tie it up in the bottom of the inning. Chris Roberson led off with a single and stole second base. He moved over to third on Joe Thurston's groundout and scored on a groundout by Jason Jaramillo. Ottawa took a 2-1 lead with a run in the second inning when Danny Sandoval doubled home Pedro Swann. Durham took a late lead with two runs in the top of the sixth, putting the Lynx behind the eight-ball before the Lynx tied the game at 3 in the bottom of the inning. Carlos Leon had the clutch hit, scoring Pedro Swann to send the game into extra innings. Justin Ruggiano had the Bulls' second game-winning home run of the night, clubbing the winner in the top of the 10th inning to sweep the doubleheader Wednesday night at Lynx Stadium.

Next Game: The Lynx and Bulls face off in the third game of this four-game set Thursday night at Lynx Stadium. Game time is 6:05 pm.

Probable Pitchers: Thursday vs. Durham, 6:05 pm: Ottawa RHP Zack Segovia (1-6, 4.60) takes on Durham RHP Jason Hammel (3-5, 3.15).
