Donations From B-Mets Fans Pour In For Flood Victims

At a time when many in our area are suffering from the effects of the recent flooding, B-Mets fans in attendance at the Binghamton Mets game on Independence Eve (7/3) pitched in to help by contributing $1,220.

The Binghamton Mets will donate another $1,000, bringing the total amount raised Monday night at NYSEG Stadium to $2,220. The money collected will go to the charitable collaboration among CHOW, the Salvation Army and Catholic Charities of Broome County. These three groups have banded together to open disaster relief centers throughout Greater Binghamton.

"The generosity of our fans continues to amaze us," said Scotty Brown, B-Mets general manager. "Many people at the game were trying to take their minds off the tragedy for a few hours, but when asked to help out, they responded marvelously."
