Macon Mayhem News Release
Macon Mayhem players swapped their hockey sticks for bells on Monday helping the Salvation Army raise money at one of its traditonal kettle locations.
Mayhem players staffed the kettle at the Tom Hill Sr. Boulevard Kroger Location from late afternoon into mid evening. It gave donors a chance to meet the players and visit with them while helping a good cause. The players who greeted fans said most seemed to be in a generous spirit.
Monday was the first of two days the Mayhem is teaming up with the Salvation Army. On Wednesday, team members will be on hand with the Salvation Army kettle at Bass Pro shops in Macon. Players will be ringing the familiar bell from 3-8 p.m. on Wednesday.
Also on Monday, the Mayhem announced it has acquired forwards Nick Grasso and Jake Trask in exchange for forward Connor Toomey.
The Mayhem plays the Fayetteville FireAntz Friday and Saturday at the Macon Coliseum. Both games start at 7:30 p.m. It's the continuation of Lend a Hand month. Fans have been contributing gently used winter clothes to Macon Outreach and new unwrapped toys to Toys For Tots. By donating a toy or coat, adults receive a $2 discount on their ticket purchase (discount does not apply to kids' tickets or end zone tickets. Maximum $2 off of each adult ticket).
For ticket and other information contact the Mayhem at 478-803-1592 and log on to the team website atwww.maconmayhem.com, and also follow the Mayhem on Facebook and Twitter.
