Lincoln Saltdogs News Release

LINCOLN, Nebraska - Hunter Clanin went 2-for-3 with the go-ahead homer in the 7th inning, Garett Delano allowed just two runs over seven innings, and the Saltdogs snapped a four-game skid with a 3-2 win over the Kane County Cougars at Haymarket Park on Monday night.

Clanin's go-ahead homer was Lincoln's first in six games, and Delano pitched a season-high seven innings to earn his first win of the year.

Lincoln (21-18) took a lead on Clanin's RBI double in the 2nd, before Jimmy Kerrigan tied the game with an RBI single in the 4th.

Kane County (20-20) took its first lead on a sacrifice fly from Cornelius Randolph in the 6th, but Ryan Long tied the game with an RBI single in the bottom-half of the inning.

The 'Dogs scored multiple runs for the first time since Wednesday night in Sioux Falls, and Lincoln also snapped a five-game home losing streak.

David Zoz pitched a scoreless 8th inning, and Steffon Moore tossed a scoreless 9th inning for his third save of the year. Moore hit Steve Lombardozzi and walked Cornelius Randolph to begin the fram, but two strikeouts sandwiching a flyout ended the game.

The 'Dogs are now 5-2 all-time against Kane County, and Lincoln improved to 8-1 when allowing two runs or fewer.

The series continues Tuesday night. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m., and pregame coverage will begin at 6:35 p.m. on ESPN Lincoln 101.5 FM/1480 AM.
