LINCOLN, Nebraska - John Bezdicek tossed five scoreless innings, but the 'Dogs (34-42) were shut out, 1-0, by the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks in the series opener at Haymarket Park on Tuesday night.
The RedHawks (49-26) jumped on the board with John Silviano's leadoff homer in the 6th inning - his first since July 10th against Sioux Falls.
Bezdicek scattered four hits with two walks and four strikeouts but did not factor into the decision after Josh Norwood allowed the Silviano homer.

Justin Byrd went 1-for-4 in his return from Oaxaca, while Rayder Ascanio extended his hitting streak to four. Ryan Long went 1-for-3 with a double and walk, and his one-out double in the 9th inning put the tying run in scoring position before Alex DuBord capped his 20th save.
Fargo-Moorhead's Peyton Wigginton tossed eight scoreless innings, allowing five hits with one walk and nine strikeouts.
The 'Dogs and RedHawks will play the second game of the series on Wednesday night. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m., and coverage will begin at 6:35 on ESPN Lincoln 101.5 FM/1480 AM.
