Lincoln Saltdogs News Release
LINCOLN -- The Lincoln Saltdogs are proud to announce that the contract of LHP David Quinowski was purchased by the Baltimore Orioles Friday.
Quinowski, a former San Francisco Giants draft pick, has posted a 2.70 career ERA with 326 strikeouts in 313.1 innings over the course of his seven years as a professional.
The San Bernardino, Calif. native reached the Double-A level in the Giants organization, where he thrived for two seasons, and ultimately received an invite to pitch in their Major League spring training camp in Scottsdale, Ariz.
The 26-year old went 3-2 with 39 strikeouts in 40 2/3 innings in relief last season in his first Independent baseball campaign. He was acquired by the Saltdogs in a trade, along with OF Matt Forgatch from Gary SouthShore in July.
Quinowski is the 10th Saltdogs player since the start of the 2011 season to be picked up by a MLB organization.
