Gwinnett Stripers News Release
Richmond, VA - The Richmond Braves will host a special promotion this Thursday, August 2 when the Braves host Indianapolis at 7 PM. The Braves invite all fans to bring their favorite canines to The Diamond, for "Bark in the Park." The night will feature a pre-game dog parade around the warning track and a competition for "best-dressed," "most looks like owner" and "cutest" dogs.
Anyone interested in participating in the parade should meet outside the visitors' bullpen on the third-base side of The Diamond, at 6:20 PM. Four Paws Pet Resort, www.richmondpetlovers.com and Bank of America, the promotion's sponsors, will provide judges for the "best-dressed," "most looks like owner" and "cutest" dogs in attendance. The judging will commence as soon as the pups show up and will continue until the middle of the second inning.
Sections 119 and 120 in the lower seating bowl, will turn into a general admission "doggie section" for anyone who brings their four-legged friend. You may purchase a ticket in the "doggie sections" for the general admission price of $7.
World renowned, SkyyDog USA, will perform special tricks throughout the contest. The Richmond SPCA's Tail Wag'N will also be on-site from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. with adorable pets on board waiting for homes. Also, representatives from Guiding Eyes for the Blind will be available to educate fans on trained guide dogs for the visually impaired.
If you have questions or would like to be apart of "Bark in the Park", please call the Braves at (804)-359-4444. Tickets may also be purchased at www.rbraves.com or Ticketmaster.
