Calgary, AB - The Calgary Roughnecks were downed by the San Diego Seals Friday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome, despite five goals from Curtis Dickson bringing Calgary back from an eight goal deficit at the half.

Dan Taylor netted the first of the game for Calgary, before San Diego took over and piled on seven goals, including two from Dane Dobbie in his first return to the Saddledome since signing with the Seals. A second marker from Taylor were the only two goals on the board for Calgary in the first, with San Diego adding three more to leave it at 10-2 at the half.

A re-energized Riggers team took the field after the break, with Curtis Dickson netting three and Herreweyers and Pace adding one a piece, to bring Calgary within six goals of the win. Big performances from Dickson and Pace propelled Calgary in the final quarter however it wasn't enough to take the win from San Diego, with the final score sitting at 17-12.

Curtis Dickson led the Roughnecks in both goals and points (5g, 2a), while Dan Taylor hit 50 career goals with his two (2g, 3a). Dane Dobbie (7g, 2a) and Casey Jackson (4g) led the scoring for San Diego.

The Roughnecks look to bounce back next Thursday, December 30th when they play the Halifax Thunderbirds on WestJet Field. The Roughhouse will be celebrating all things Maritimes with the East Coast Kitchen Party, featuring $5 food and drink specials and special concourse activations.
