Calgary Stampeders News Release

The Calgary Stampeders announce the signing of import defensive lineman Kevin Dixon and import receiver Josh Jarboe. As per club policy, terms of the agreements were not disclosed.

Dixon returns to the team after having been released on June 2 as a result of failing his pre-camp physical. The rehab process on the knee injury that forced him to miss the entire 2012 season has since progressed to the point he can resume football activities.

The 26-year-old Troy University alumnus played nine games for the Stamps in 2011, recording 14 tackles, two sacks and one forced fumble.

Jarboe is a former second-team All-Sun Belt Conference all-star at Arkansas State who recently attended the mini-camp of the National Football League's Washington Redskins. As a junior in 2011, he made 54 catches for 730 yards and two touchdowns. As a senior, Jarboe had 50 receptions for 570 yards and four touchdowns. Prior to Arkansas State, he played at Northeast Mississippi Junior College and led the team with 42 catches for 495 yards and was named to the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges all-state team.

In other transactions, the Stampeders activated import quarterback Ryan Perrilloux - who had been unable to report to camp because of passport issues - from the suspended list. The team has also released import quarterback Jimmy Coy, import receiver Raymond Webber, import defensive lineman Swanson Miller and import defensive back Reggie Jones, who injured his knee during camp and is scheduled for surgery this week.

Training camp, presented by bet365.net, resumes today at McMahon Stadium with practices in the morning and in the afternoon.
