
Disher Posts League-Leading Fifth Shutout

Josh Disher turned aside 23 shots for his League-leading fifth shutout of the season to lead the ERIE OTTERS to a 5-0 win over the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in an Ontario Hockey League game played tonight in front of 3,982 at the Tullio Arena.
Ryan O'Marra paced the OTTERS with two goals and an assist while Jason Speight scored a goal (his first career) and an assist. Geoff Platt, with the eventual game winner on a first-period power play, Josh Patterson and Derek Merlini also scored for the OTTERS. Vince Scott collected two assists.
The OTTERS improved to 20-17-5-1 on the season and moved two points up on the Greyhounds for seventh in the Western Conference. ERIE holds four games in hand. The victory was the OTTERS' 250th in franchise history.
The Greyhounds dropped to 21-24-1-1 with their second straight loss. The OTTERS led 1-0 after one and 3-0 heading into the third.
ERIE out shot the âHounds 31-26 in the game. The three stars of the game were all from the OTTERS. Disher was the first, O'Marra the second and Speight the third.
The OTTERS return to action tomorrow (Saturday) night when the Saginaw Spirit (12-28-2-3 after a 5-2 loss in Guelph tonight) make their first visit of the season to the Tullio Arena. The game is presented by Arby's Restaurant with the first 5,000 fans receiving a food voucher courtesy of Arby's. Tickets for the game are available at the Erie Civic Center Box Office and all Erie-area TicketMaster locations.
The game can also be heard live on SportsRadio 1330 the FAN and at www.ottershockey.com (presented by the James H. Cross Company) beginning with the pre-game show at 7:15 p.m.
