Dirt Dawgs Fall to Brockton

Wachusett Dirt Dawgs News Release

LEOMINSTER, Mass (July 10, 2014). The Wachusett Dirt Dawgs got into a hole early and were never able to dig out of it. The Brockton Rox topped the Dirt Dawgs by a score of 5-2.

The Dirt Dawgs were led by Michael Rizzitello (Dowling) who hit his first home run of the season. He also threw out two runners from behind the plate. Vincent Sharkey (Adelphi) also had his first home run of the season. Alec Morrison (Holy Cross) came into pitch two innings of relief. He did not allow a run and struck out three.

The Rox had home runs from Joe Freiday (Virginia Tech) and Tom Marcincyk (Rutgers). Each of them had two RBIs in the game. Zach Littman (UMass Amherst) also had three hits in the game.

The Dirt Dawgs will take on the Martha's Vineyard Sharks on Friday July 11th at 6:35. Mike Lundin (Franklin Pierce) will take the mound for the Dirt Dawgs.
