Taylor Olmstead went 1-2 as the Torrington Titans (15-14) took home a 3-2 victory over the Pittsfield Suns (16-13) in seven innings at Wahconah Park on Thursday.
He tripled in the fifth inning.
Zachary LaRosa kept contact to a minimum, striking out six the Pittsfield Suns batters. The Torrington Titans' pitcher tossed five innings of shutout ball and allowed only three hits.
Steve Dill racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Pittsfield Suns. He singled in the second inning and tripled in the sixth inning.
Nate Spielvogel put together a nice outing. The Torrington Titans managed just one hit off of Spielvogel, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his 2 1/3 innings of work.
Justin Finan (1-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
