Wachusett Dirt Dawgs News Release
PITTSFIELD, MA - Despite jumping out to an early lead, the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (16-19) eventually fell to the Pittsfield Suns (22-23) 6-1.
Wachusett starting pitcher Joey Gaouette (William & Mary) was strong in the defeat, allowing one earned run, while striking out six over five innings. He moves to 1-4 on the season.
Billy Wright (Judson) and Tyler Mikrut (Southern Indiana) both recorded two-hit games, while Josh Raymond (Judson) knocked in the lone Wachusett run.
Reliever David Montiverdi (Dowling) pitched well in his inning of work, allowing no hits.
The Dirt Dawgs travel to Martha's Vineyard tomorrow for a doubleheader with the first place Sharks. The first game is at 4 PM.
