Windsor Spitfires News Release

Michael DiPietro is our Precision Jewellers Player of the Month for January.

The rookie goaltender began a fantastic month making 30 saves for his second shutout of the season against the Owen Sound Attack at the WFCU Centre on January 7th.

The effort helped him secure the Canadian Hockey League's Vaughn Goaltender of the Week for the period ended January 10th.

His dominance continued, winning four more games and capping his season-high winning streak at nine, while finishing with a 5-2 record for the month, along with a 1.87 goals against average and a .929 save percentage.

DiPietro, 16, is ranked in the top three in the Ontario Hockey League in both major statistical categories - with a 2.27 goals against average (2nd) and a .921 save percentage (3rd).

Congrats to Mikey, who will be recognized prior to our next home game, Thursday, February 4th, against the Sudbury Wolves.
