
Dietrich earns Defensive Player of the Week honors

BUFFALO, NY (April 6, 2006) - Buffalo Bandits goaltender Steve Dietrich has been named the NLL's Defensive Player of the Week for Week 14. Dietrich earned wins at San Jose on Friday and Arizona on Saturday as the Bandits clinched a berth in the 2006 Champion's Cup Playoffs. The Kitchener, Ont.-native made 44 saves on 53 shots to earn an 11-9 win at San Jose, and then made 40 saves on 50 shots in a 13-10 win at Arizona .
Currently leading the NLL with a 10.04 goals-against average and an .808 save percentage, Dietrich is 8-4 and has appeared in every game the Bandits have played this season. He previously was named Defensive Player of the Week for Week 3, when he made 56 saves on 67 shots in the season opener, earning a 13-11 win against Toronto.
