Prout and Merrill Honored

Colorado Mammoth forward Gavin Prout was named the Overall Player of the Month for March and Portland LumberJax defenseman Brodie Merrill was named the Rookie of the Month for March. Prout led Colorado to a 3-2 record during the month while Merrill helped the LumberJax to a 4-2 record during the month. Prout captured the honors after scoring 33 points in his five games while Merrill was honored after scoring 20 points in six games.

Gavin Prout led the Mammoth to a 3-2 record in March including two wins over the Edmonton Rush and a win over the Arizona Sting. The fifth-year forward totaled 33 points on nine goals and 24 assists in March. Prout also collected 29 loose balls and scored four power play goals and a short-handed goal over the five game span.

Brodie Merrill earns March Rookie of the Month honors after helping lead the LumberJax to a 4-2 record during the month. The LumberJax posted four wins during March, all over divisional opponents. In six games Merrill totaled 20 points on eight goals and twelve assists, and collected 82 loose balls. The Georgetown University graduate also scored two short-handed goals during the month.
