Northern Colorado Owlz News Release

Jairo Diaz allowed one earned run in 6.2 innings to help the Owlz win their third straight game with a 6-5 win over Idaho Falls.

After starting the season 1-8, the Owlz have gotten some tremendous pitching to help them win back-to-back-to back games. Diaz drew the start on Friday evening and ran into some early trouble in the first inning. The Venezuelan allowed three unearned runs due to an error by Michael Bolaski. After the first inning, Diaz recovered to fire five scoreless innings.

The Owlz got their scoring started in the 5th inning on Michael Snyder's first professional home run. One more run came across in the inning on a RBI double by Carlos Lugo.

In the 6th inning, Orem got another four runs against Clayton Schulz. Bolaski led off the inning with a double and came in on a Jonathan Walsh RBI single. Snyder followed with his team-leading 7th double and Jarrod Parks brought home Walsh and Snyder on a 2-run double. Lugo picked up another RBI in the inning.

The Chukars got one run in the 7th and one more in the 9th inning, but fell short against Austin Adams.

The Owlz have now won three in a row and will welcome the Grand Junction Rockies into town starting on Saturday night. Dmitri Young will be at the ballpark on Saturday to sign autographs and throw out the first pitch. "Da Meat Hooks" will be handed out to kids in attendance.
