The Red Wings fell 7-1 to the Pawtucket Red Sox Monday afternoon in a six-inning, rain-shortened game at the Lee County Sports Complex in Ft. Myers, Fla.

Scott Diamond, making his spring debut after having a bone chip removed in his left elbow in December, yielded a hit and struck out three in two scoreless innings.

Diamond is expected to rejoin the Twins starting rotation in mid-April after leading the team with 12 wins and 173.0 innings pitched a season ago.

The Paw Sox did all their damage against Twins top pitching prospect Alex Meyer who surrendered seven runs on 10 hits in three innings of work. The 6-9 right-hander who was acquired from Washington in the Denard Span trade, fared well in his first Big League camp allowing just one hit in five scoreless innings before being reassigned last week.

The Wings offense mustered just three hits - two off the red-hot bat of Antoan Richardson . The 29-year-old outfielder is hitting .538 (7-for-13) with three RBI and two runs scored over his last five games.

Richardson spent the majority of 2012 playing for Double-A Bowie (Baltimore) where he hit .279 in 90 games.

Shortstop prospect Danny Santana recorded the other hit for the Wings and designated hitter Eric Fryer scored the lone run for Rochester who fell to 3-2 in spring training action.

Rochester continues their spring slate on Tuesday at 1:05 p.m. against Pawtucket.
