Diamond Jaxx earn victory over Suns

(Jackson, TN) July 18th- The West Tenn Diamond Jaxx scored two unearned runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to break a 2-2 tie as the Jaxx went on to beat the Jacksonville Suns 4-2 in game three of a five game series from Pringles Park. The Diamond Jaxx won the game despite committing four errors in the game.

Johan Limonta led off the bottom of the seventh by hitting a foul ball that was dropped by Suns 3B Adolfo Gonzalez. Limonta drilled the next pitch off losing pitcher Danny Muegge (0-3) into left for a lead-off single. Jose Yepez sacrificed Limonta to second. Erick Monzon and Matt Mangini walked to load the bases. Jeff Dominguez stepped to the plate and hit a fly ball to deep center. Suns CF James Tomlin dropped the ball, allowing two runs to score as the Diamond Jaxx took a 4-2 lead.

Muegge pitched two innings in relief of starter James McDonald. Muegge allowed two unearned runs on two hits with three walks and a strikeout. McDonald went the first six innings, allowing a pair of unearned runs on three hits with two walks and three strikeouts. Shane Justis had two hits and two RBI's to help lead the Suns five hit attack. James Tomlin chipped in with two hits and a run scored.

Jason Mackintosh picked up the win, moving his record to 5-4 on the season. Mackintosh allowed no runs on no hits with two walks in two innings out of the bullpen. Shawn Kelley retired the final five batters of the game to notch his fourth save of the season.

Johan Limonta had three hits and two RBI's to lead the Diamond Jaxx five hit attack. All four runs scored by West Tenn were unearned runs as the Jaxx took advantage of three Jacksonville errors.

Game four of the five game series is set for Saturday night at 7:05 CDT. Right-hander Brodie Downs (4-0 4.14) gets the start for the Diamond Jaxx. Jacksonville will counter with left-hander Cody White (3-3 8.10).
