CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The Diamond Jaxx scored two runs in the first inning and never looked back in an 8-3 victory over the Lookouts in Thursday night action at AT&T Field.

After waiting an hour-and-a-half to begin the game due to rain, West Tennessee jumped on Lookouts starting pitcher Chris Withrow (3-8) right out of the gate. Alex Liddi hit an RBI single, while Johan Limonta contributed with an RBI double in the first inning to give the Diamond Jaxx an early 2-0 lead.

The Diamond Jaxx scored another run in the second on a Johan Limonta RBI double, but the Lookouts countered with two runs in the bottom portion of the inning. Jaime Pedroza and Kyle Russell led off the inning with walks. After a Jessie Mier ground out, which advanced both runners a base, a passed ball allowed Pedroza to scamper home. Dee Gordon followed with a sacrifice fly to bring home Russell from third.

The runs kept flowing for West Tennessee, as the Diamond Jaxx scored two more runs in the third, highlighted by a Guillermo Quiroz RBI double, to put the score at 5-2.

RBI singles from Limonta and Quiroz in the seventh inning added two more insurance runs for the Diamond Jaxx. An eighth inning RBI double from Matthew Lawson augmented West Tennessee's lead, 8-2. The Lookouts were able to score one run in the ninth on a Cory Smith force out to put the score at its final resting point, 8-3.

Steven Richard (1-0) was credited with the win for the Diamond Jaxx by throwing three innings of shutout baseball out of the bullpen. He yielded four hits, while striking out four in the win.

The Chattanooga Lookouts and West Tennessee Diamond Jaxx will wrap-up their five-game series at 7:15 P.M. tomorrow. Tickets for this game or any other Lookouts home game can be purchased at the Lookouts Box Office at AT&T Field, online at www.lookouts.com, or by calling (423) 267-4849.
