
Diamond Heads to Austin; Lancers Acquire Future Considerations

OMAHA, NE. - The Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) have announced the acquisition of future considerations from the Austin Bruins of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), in exchange for Forward, Will Diamond.
Diamond (2003), of Carpentersville, Illinois played his first full-time season in the USHL during the 2022-23 campaign, picking up seven assists in 43 games played. Diamond also appeared in three games within the current season, grabbing an assist in the process against the U18 USNTDP at the 2023 Fall Classic on September 24th, 2023.
He played in his USHL debut exactly one year prior against that same U18 squad, resulting in a 4-3 overtime loss. It only took the forward two games to notch his first USHL point as he logged a primary assist on a goal scored by Tanner Rowe at the Lancers' home opener on October 7th, 2022 against the Tri-City Storm.
Prior to his USHL career, Diamond played his first junior hockey season with the Aberdeen Wings of the NAHL, aiding them to a record of 30-24-3-2 which was good for a third place finish in the central division and a playoff appearance. Within that 2021-22 season, the 6-foot-3, 206 pound forward tallied six assists in 43 total games played in a Wings uniform.
The Austin Bruins finished finished at the top of the central division for the 2022-23 season, with an impressive record of 34-16-3-7. As they ran through the playoffs and ended up falling in the 2023 Robertson Cup Final to the Oklahoma Warriors. The Bruins have not yet taken their foot off the gas pedal as they currently sit at a 7-1-0-0 record through their first eight games on the current season, sitting atop of the central division.
