WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Wingnuts dropped a 5-4 decision at the El Paso Diablos today.
Chris Colton gave Wichita a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning with his first home run of the season, but the Diablos jumped ahead for good in the bottom of the inning with three runs.
The Wingnuts pulled to within 3-2, 4-3 and 5-4, but missed a golden opportunity when they loaded the bases with no outs in the eighth and only scored one run. Wingnuts starter Brad Davis suffered the loss.
Wichita, now 4-2, returns to action on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at El Paso. Former WSU Shocker star Kevin Hooper is finally expected to make his Wingnuts debut on Wednesday after missing the first six games due to a pair of family obligations.
