El Paso got a fine pitching performance from starter David Whigham and big production from the heart of their batting order in a 5-4 victory over Wichita. The Diablos number two through five hitters went a combined 9-for-15 and knocked in four runs. DH Jorge Alvarez was 3-for-4 and 1B Walter Olmstead had two hits and two RBI. Whigham allowed just one earned run on three hits while fanning four. Chris Thompson worked a scoreless ninth for his second save of the season. CF Chris Colton led the way for the Wingnuts. He finished 3-for-4 with a homerun and a double.

Fort Worth 8, Lincoln 6

The Cats overcame an early 5-2 deficit and in the home half of the eighth inning completed another late rally as they defeated the visiting Saltdogs 8-6. Leading 6-5 with one on in the eighth, Lincoln pitcher Josh Kauten hit two consecutive batters to load the bases. With C Ken Lup at the plate Kauten threw a wild pitch which tied the score at six and then surrendered RBI singles to Lup and CF Brian Fryer to give Fort Worth the lead for good. Jon Hunton came on in the ninth and after allowing a lead off double to SS Anthony Contreras, closed the game out for his third save of the year. Contreras, the lone Lincoln batter with multiple hits, finished 3-for-4 on the night. The defending champion Cats have already claimed three victories when tied or trailing after seven and a half innings.

St. Paul 6, Sioux City 0

St. Paul scored five times in the first three innings and coasted to a 6-0 win behind a strong effort from starting pitcher Luis Villarreal. The veteran lefty went five innings and struck out seven while allowing just one hit. Relievers Kyle Foster and Mike Bille worked four innings combining to strike out four more Explorers and preserving the shutout.
In the first inning Saints DH Marcel Longmire plated a run with a double while the second inning was highlighted by RBI singles from 2B Julius Thames and SS Brian Sprout that gave St. Paul a 4-0 cushion.
C Kevin Sullivan homered in the eighth, his second long ball of the year.

Sioux Falls 7, Pensacola 5

The Canaries got a four hit night from 1B Patrick Reilly and four RBI from LF Beau Torbert to score seven unanswered runs and defeat the Pelicans 7-5. Pensacola used two singles, a walk and a double to score three in the first. They added two more in the top of the second for a 5-0 lead. Sioux Falls got right back in the game using two hits and two Pelican errors to score three times in the their half of the second, trimming the lead to 5-3. Then Canaries starter Pat Mahomes shut the door. He allowed just two hits and zero runs in the next four innings.
Down 5-4, Sioux Falls took the lead in the sixth on a double by 3B Grant Richardson, an RBI single from RF Ben Van Iderstine, and an RBI double by Reilly. Torbert added some insurance by doubling home Reilly for the game's final run and his fourth RBI.

The game between Grand Prairie and Shreveport was postponed due to rain. A doubleheader consisting of two seven inning games will be played Wednesday beginning at 10AM.
