Round Rock Express News Release
Absolutely nothing went right for the Round Rock Express Thursday night as the El Paso Diablos easily won the second-half opener, 11-1, in front of 2,886 at Cohen Stadium.
A Jacques Landry first inning single actually gave Round Rock a 1-0 lead. However, that lead was quickly erased by a five-run first by El Paso that essentially put the game away after one inning.
The Diablos poured it on with three runs in the fourth and sixth innings of off starter and losing pitcher Chad Qualls (3-7) and Mike Burns. Jesus led the assault with a 5 for 5 night with three RBIs and three runs scored.
Casey Daigle (8-7) got the win by throwing a complete came four-hitter.
The two teams will meet again Friday at 8 p.m. CT.
