Dexter Fowler to play for Drillers tonight
September 5, 2009 - Texas League (TL1)
Tulsa Drillers News Release
The Tulsa Drillers face the tall order of needing to sweep the final three games of the regular season against Northwest Arkansas to claim a spot in the Texas League Playoffs. They will have a bit of help with the task in the form of a major league player. Outfielder Dexter Fowler is expected to join the Drillers in time for Saturday night's game against the Naturals.
Fowler, a Texas League All-Star for the Drillers last year, has been the starting centerfielder for the Colorado Rockies this season. He is currently on the Rockies' disabled list with a bruised knee.
Fowler is expected to be with the Drillers for the entire three-game series with the Naturals that will run through Labor Day on September 7. Starting time for Saturday's game will be 7:05PM, while Sunday and Monday's games will begin at 6:05PM.
