New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release

ERIE, Pa. - Prior to tonight's game in Erie, the Toronto Blue Jays have added infielder Devon Travis to the Fisher Cats roster on an official MLB rehabilitation assignment. The infielder will join the team beginning with tonight's series opener.

Travis was enjoying a fine big league debut in his first season in the Toronto organization when he injured his shoulder earlier this season. Through 36 games with the Blue Jays, Travis was hitting .271 with seven home runs and 26 RBI. He homered in his big league debut on April 6, and hit .325 in the month of April.

This will mark Travis' debut with the Fisher Cats, but it is not his first go-round in the Eastern League. The Floridian was an Eastern League All-Star with the Erie SeaWolves in 2014, meaning he'll make his Fisher Cats debut tonight against his former club.

Travis was acquired n a trade with Detroit in November for former Fisher Cats outfielder Anthony Gose. Through two-plus months of 2015, the trade has been a success for both teams as Gose was hitting .283 with a career-high ten doubles through June 14 with the Tigers.

Tonight's first pitch is at 7:05 p.m. with Casey Lawrence toeing the rubber against Erie's Warwick Saupold. Radio coverage begins at 6:45 with Ben Gellman on WGIR 610 AM and at www.nhfishercats.com.

The Fisher Cats return home this Friday night to begin an eight-game home stand that features five Atlas Fireworks shows, an appearance by Patriots running back Jonas Gray, and the team's first series with the Future Red Sox, the Portland Sea Dogs. Tickets are available by visiting www.nhfishercats.com, stopping by the box office at the ballpark, or by calling (603) 641-2005.
