New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release

MANCHESTER, N.H. - In conjunction with the Eastern League, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats announced that outfielder Dalton Pompey has been named the league's Player of the Week today. The honor comes after Pompey launched three home runs and delivered 8 RBI while batting .400 for the week of June 8-14.

Since returning to the Fisher Cats at the end of last week, Pompey has been a surprising source of power. He already has four home runs, including two en route to the Fisher Cats' 14-1 victory over Altoona on June 12. He tallied three hits and nine total bases in that game, then homered once more the following day.

In eight games with New Hampshire, he has 12 hits (12-34, .353), six for extra bases, and ten total runs batted in. He has hit safely in nine straight overall, including one game with Buffalo on June 5.

This is the second stint with the Fisher Cats for the Canadian. He was with New Hampshire last year for 31 games, hitting .295 with three home runs. He would play across four levels last year, beginning with Advanced-A Dunedin and ending in the major leagues with the Blue Jays. He began this season with Toronto, and has also played with Buffalo.

Pompey is the second Fisher Cat to be awarded a weekly award in 2015 following current Buffalo Bison Matt Boyd, who was named Pitcher of the Week on May 17.

The Fisher Cats open up a three-game series on the road Monday at Jerry Uht Park against the Erie SeaWolves. Radio coverage begins at 6:45 with Ben Gellman on WGIR 610 AM and at www.nhfishercats.com.

The Fisher Cats return home this Friday night to begin an eight game home stand through June 26. Tickets are available by visiting www.nhfishercats.com, stopping by the box office at the ballpark, or by calling (603) 641-2005.
