ALBANY, N.Y. - Binghamton lost to the Albany Devils 2-1 after dropping a 1-0 third period lead Wednesday night. Mike Sislo scored the game winner 17:17 into the final period of play to complete the comeback for Albany.
Following a scorless first period, Binghamton grabbed the first lead of the night on a power-play goal from Matt Puempel at 15:54 of the second period. Mark Stone and Stephane Da Costa earned assists on Puempel's 24th goal of the year.
Binghamton controlled the majority of the final period until Reid Boucher beat Binghamton goaltender Andrew Hammond for his 17th goal of the year with just over seven minutes remaining in regulation. Sislo notched his game winner with less than three minutes remaining following a turnover at the Sens blue line.
Sislo finished with a goal and an assist to lead Albany while Puempel scored his team-leading 13th power-play goal. Hammond finished with 26 saves on 28 shots faced while Albany's Scott Wedgewood earned the win with 18 saves on 19 shots faced.
Binghamton continues its road trip with back-to-back games against Norfolk staring Friday, March 21, at 7:30p.m. Saturday's contest will begin at 7:15p.m. while both games can be heard live on Oldies 96.9FM or WINR 680AM.
