
Devils Fall to Wolf Pack 3-0 in Pre-Season Outing

HARTFORD, Conn. - Albany Devils goaltender Dave Caruso turned away 37 shots, but the Hartford Wolf Pack notched three goals in the third period to earn a 3-0 victory in pre-season action Wednesday night. The contest, which took place at Trinity College's Koeppel Community Sports Center, was the first pre-season game for the Devils, who will have two more opportunities to fine tune their skills before the Saturday, Oct. 9 opener against Adirondack at 7 p.m.
Caruso kept Hartford off the board for the first two periods, making 25 stops, but a pair of power-play tallies and an even-strength goal lifted the Wolf Pack to the victory.
Mats Zuccarello opened the scoring at 2:13 of the third while on the power-play and assisted on the team's second goal off the stick of Samson Mahbod at 6:39.
Lee Baldwin closed out the scoring with man-advantage goal at 9:59.
The Devils will return to action on Friday, Oct. 1 with a 7:30 p.m. game at Adirondack. A day later, the two teams meet again at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's Houston Field House at 7 p.m. Ticket for that game can be purchased by going to the RPI box office located in the East Campus Athletic Village or by calling (518) 276-6262.
