
Devan and Taylor Wray sign one year deals

Calgary, AB - Calgary Roughnecks General Manager Kurt Silcott announced Thursday the singing of Transition player Devan Wray and Defenceman Taylor Wray, both signed one-year deals. Terms and conditions of deal were not disclosed.
"Taylor and Devan are two of the classiest guys in the NLL. They represent the team, the league and the Calgary community very well and we're not only grateful that they have signed, but pleased to announce that they will both be living in Calgary for the 2007 season", said Roughnecks General Manager Kurt Silcott. "Taylor has proven to be a dynamic force on defense while Devan is one of the top face-off men in the league. This year I'm expecting more from both of the Wray brothers."
Devan, originally drafted by the Vancouver Ravens in the 2nd Round (20th overall) in the 2003 Entry draft was then traded to the Calgary Roughnecks that same year in exchange for Calgary's 1st overall pick in the 2005 NLL Entry Draft.
Last season, his third with the Roughnecks, Devan tallied 7 points (1 goal, 6 assists), 86 Loose balls, 12 penalty minutes and won 239 of 408 faceoffs in 16 regular season games. In 39 career games, the 27-year old, 5'10", 200lbs. Edmonton, AB native has collected 19 points (6 goals, 13 assists), 184 loose balls and has won 321 of 553 faceoffs.
Devan is currently the Roughnecks all time face off wins leader.
Taylor, 25, tallied 22 points (6 goals, 16 assists), 102 loose balls and 33 penalty minutes in 14 regular season games in 2006. The 6'2" 230lbs. defenceman was drafted by the Roughnecks in the 1st round (2nd overall) in the 2003 NLL Entry Draft.
In 44 career games, Taylor, the Edmonton, AB native has registered 60 points (20 goals, 40 assists), 319 loose balls and 111 penalty minutes. He was voted the NLL defensive rookie of the year in 2004 following the Roughnecks Championship.
"Taylor should be improved as his travel schedule last year was an absolute nightmare, and therefore quite taxing," said Roughnecks General Manager Kurt Silcott. "Meanwhile, Devan is in the pivotal 2nd year after a knee surgery and we expect them both to bring their games to a new level."
