
Detroit Shock Announce 2008 Television Schedule

Auburn Hills, MI - The Detroit Shock announced its 2008 television schedule today which features 11 local broadcasts - all on FSN Detroit - and four nationally televised games - three on ESPN2 and one on ABC.
The Shock's local schedule (FSN Detroit) tips off on Sunday, May 25 at The Palace of Auburn Hills with a 6:00 p.m. game vs. 2007 first-round WNBA playoff opponent, the New York Liberty. The FSN Detroit schedule is also highlighted by the return of former Detroit Shock forward Swin Cash who comes in with new teammates Cheryl Swoopes and Sue Bird and the Seattle Storm on Wednesday, June 4 at 7:30 p.m. ET. In addition, former Shock teammates Ivory Latta and Katie Feenstra with their new team and the newest addition to the WNBA, the Atlanta Dream, will visit the Palace on Sunday, June 29 at 6 p.m.
Two of the 11 FSN Detroit broadcasts will be local feeds of Shock road games, the first from Seattle (June 7 @ 10:00 p.m.) and the next from New York (July 12 @ 7:30 p.m.) and will feature the home team's (SEA or NY) production and broadcast talent.
The rematch of the 2008 WNBA Finals, the Shock vs. the Phoenix Mercury, will be on ABC, June 14 at 3:30 p.m and will be the first of four nationally televised games for the Shock. Detroit's July 22 tilt versus the number one overall draft pick in the 2008 WNBA Draft, Candice Parker and the re-vamped Los Angeles Sparks will be shown on ESPN2 Also on ESPN2 will be the Shock's July 24 road game at the Houston Comets at 9 p.m. and the second meeting of the season between the Shock and Mercury Tuesday, September 9 at 7 p.m. from The Palace of Auburn Hills.
Additional Shock games will be broadcast nationally via the league's 24-hour television network, NBA TV.
